These guidelines set out what is expected of everyone in this community. They are defined by the Publisher of the application and apply in addition to the Terms of Use. By using the Platform, you agree to follow them.
Respect and privacy
- Be courteous. Avoid rudeness, profanity and insults.
- Mind your tone. Stay respectful and avoid escalating conflicts.
- Write so others can read you. Avoid excessive capitals, repeated punctuation or hard-to-read formatting.
- Respect differing opinions and backgrounds.
- Protect your privacy and that of others: do not share sensitive or personal information, yours or anyone else's, without consent.
- Do not impersonate anyone or create fake profiles.
What is not accepted
The following are prohibited:
- Harassment and abuse — threats, bullying or personal attacks.
- Hate speech and discrimination — content promoting racism, sexism, homophobia or any form of discrimination.
- Illegal activity — posts promoting fraud, scams, illegal substances or criminal behaviour.
- Explicit content — violent, graphic or pornographic material.
- Harmful behaviour — encouraging self-harm, suicide or any dangerous activity.
- False information that may endanger someone's health or safety.
- Spam — posting the same message repeatedly or other spam-like behaviour.
- Commercial and financial solicitation — advertising products or services, or asking for donations, loans or participation in financial schemes.
- Promoting competing or off-platform services — using the community to advertise, recommend or drive members towards products, services or platforms that compete with the application.
- Unsolicited religious or political campaigning.
- Unreliable links — links to untrustworthy or malicious websites.
Sharing content responsibly
- Share accurate and factual information.
- Make sure what you post complies with applicable law.
- Only upload content you own or have permission to use.
How we handle violations
Moderation combines automated detection with human review. Breaking these guidelines may lead to:
- removal of the content concerned;
- a warning or a temporary suspension for minor breaches;
- a permanent ban for repeated or serious breaches. Permanent bans are always decided by a person, never automatically.
We tell you which measure has been taken and on what ground, unless the law or an authority prevents it, or doing so would compromise the safety of others.
If you disagree with a decision, you can contest it within six months by writing to contact@octopuscommunity.com. You will receive a reasoned reply. This does not affect your right to bring the matter before a court or a competent authority.
Reporting and moderation
- Use the reporting tools to flag inappropriate content or behaviour.
- Let moderators handle reports rather than responding in kind.
Continuous improvement
We update these guidelines as new challenges appear, to keep the community safe, inclusive and engaging. Thank you for contributing to it.
